Ed Tausche, Cedar House, LLC
Ed Tausche grew up in the Hague, Netherlands, but spent his high school years in Barrington, Illinois. Ed started his career in Savannah, GA and then moved to Key West where he worked as a building contractor and met his wife Melissa, who works at Beyond, Inc. They have a 14-year-old daughter, Darmody, who attends Blowing Rock school. While in Key West, Ed designed and built a roller hockey rink and created both adult and children’s leagues with over 500 players. His own team even won 2nd place in the national championship one year. Affectionately known as Big Ed to the hundreds of kids he coached, Ed, arrived in Blowing Rock after many hurricane evacuations from Key West. Not wanting to sit in a hotel room and wait out the storm, he and his family would explore the North Carolina mountains and stumbled upon this amazing town, buying a vacation home shortly thereafter. Like many vacation homeowners, they soon made it their permanent residence. Currently, Ed is a NC licensed building contractor and works as the project coordinator for Habitat for Humanity. He is an active member of the Blowing Rock Rotary Club and Rumple Presbyterian Church. Ed and his family are very excited to be helping Habitat through the Big Kahuna campaign and encourage everyone to donate.
