A Brush With Kindness-Exterior Home Repair Program

In an effort to help more people in need of safe, decent, affordable housing, we are working to increase the number of homes we build annually.  Additionally, in continuation of our mission to help provide decent affordable housing in Watauga County, Watauga Habitat has expanded our focus on building new homes to include a home repair program, A Brush With Kindness (ABWK).  The program is designed to assist low-income homeowners who are affected by age, disability or family circumstances and who struggle to maintain the integrity of their homes.  Through ABWK, these families will be able to reclaim their homes with pride and dignity.

Watauga County Habitat for Humanity partners with local limited-income homeowners who are in need of repair or maintenance on their homes. Individuals and families are selected based on:

Willingness to partner

Demonstrated need

Ability to pay a zero-interest loan
